Examples of Custom Mixer Developments

Resin Rock Bolting System
Exchem Mining and Construction and their Australian sister company, Celtite Australia, have developed a unique rock bolting system. TAH partnered with Celtite to commercialize this product. The system involves a "pumped" resin system. The two-component polyester resin is supplied inside a two-component barrier capsule (sausage). The static mixer assembly and resin capsule are supplied inside a hollow rock bolt. A hydraulic driller is used to drill the hole, insert the rock bolt and then hydraulically pressurize the resin capsule, until it breaks on a special puncture device attached to the mixer. As the capsule collapses, it’s contents are pushed into the mixer assembly where the resin and catalyst are thoroughly mixed by the static mixing elements. Fully mixed adhesive then exits the rock bolt and flows through the annular void between the exterior of the bolt and drilled hole. Depending on the strata, slow and fast set adhesive systems can be supplied. rd drilling equipment can be used to install the resin rock bolts.

Urethane Foam
This construction application involves injection of a fast setting urethane foam around door, window and electrical cut outs. The flow rate can be varied by the position of an inclined pinch valve. The isocyanate and polyol are stored separately in 1 liter pressured containers.

Needle Attachment
For exact placement of adhesives, a needle can be affixed to our plastic mixers. A luer lok fitting is used to securely hold the needle in place. This ensures long service life for the mixer.

Tire Fill
Off the road construction and mining equipment often use elastomer urethanes to replace air in tires. TAH designed a special static mixer that eliminated the need for cleaning solvents. The assembly can be quickly disabled for cleaning and replacement. Mixer: 32 elements of 5/8" (16mm) diameter.
